| The Sierra Turf Club at 14 East Commercial Row was opened as a race book in April 1950 by Harry Weitz and Irving Schneider. In September 1951 James and Charles O;Keefe became additional partners and soon thereafter they took over as sole owners. They operated the Sierra Turf Club until their lease expired in June 1967. The O'Keefe's then opened the Nevada Turf Club at 34 East Commercial Row. According to Dwayne Kling |
